The client’s objectives and expectations
Support and reinforcement during the 2024 technical shutdown period of the BEM Monge as part of its operational maintenance.
Our main responsibilities
Support during technical shutdowns (AT) for the restart of onboard auxiliary systems following maintenance stoppages, including diesel generators, propulsion engines, air refrigeration systems, etc.
Project characteristics
The Monge is a measurement and test ship (BEM) in service with the French Navy since 4 November 1992. Unique in the French Navy and among the few of its kind worldwide, it is deployed at sea to monitor flight tests of from the DGA Missile Testing Center in Biscarrosse, including the MSBS M45 and M51 ballistic missiles, as well as the ASMP and airborne nuclear missiles.
The Monge is also used for space surveillance (satellites, debris, ISS) on behalf of CNES and other military organizations. It also occasionally participates in European Space Agency missions, particularly during Ariane rocket launches.
Results achieved
Successful technical shutdown; dry-dock exit completed on schedule for the next mission.
Participating in the restoration of a piece of history such as the Monge is always a source of pride. As a former sailor in the French Navy, it also feels like a return to my roots.
